Trusting God in Uncertainty
Verse: Ruth 2:3 "So she set out and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers, and she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the clan of Elimelech."
Ruth's decision to go to Boaz' field was not a deliberate one. She was simply trying to gather food for herself and her mother-in-law, Naomi. But as she went to the field, she was unaware that God was leading her to a place where she would find favor and provision.
This incident in Ruth's life teaches us a valuable lesson about trusting God in uncertainty. Often, we find ourselves in situations where we are unsure of what the future holds. We may be faced with difficult decisions, uncertain circumstances, or unfulfilled dreams. In such times, it's easy to feel lost and uncertain.
But Ruth's story reminds us that even in the midst of uncertainty, God is always at work. Whether we know God's plan or not, we can trust that He is leading us to the exact path we need to take. Our part is to keep trusting God, even when we don't understand our circumstances. We need to look to God alone and do His will to the best of our ability. That is what trusting God means.
As we do so, we can be confident that God will lead us to the correct path, even if we are uncertain at present. Ruth's story is a powerful reminder that God is always in control, even when we are unsure of what the future holds. As we trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, we can have confidence that He will lead us to the exact path we need to take.
Prayer:
Dear God, help us to trust in Your goodness and sovereignty, even when we are unsure of what the future holds. Remind us that You are always at work, leading us to the exact path we need to take. May we look to You alone and do Your will to the best of our ability. May we have confidence that You will lead us to the correct path, even in the midst of uncertainty.
Amen.
