The Consequences of Anarchy and Rebellion Against God's Design

Verses :Judges 19 says, "Behold, men of the city, worthless fellows, surrounded the house, beating on the door. And they said to the old man, the master of the house, 'Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.' And the man, the master of the house, went out to them and said, 'No, my brothers, do not act so wickedly; since this man has come into my house, do not do this vile thing.'"

The story of the Levite and his concubine in Judges 19 serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of anarchy and rebellion against God's design. The men of Gibeah, who demanded to have relations with the Levite, were acting out of a spirit of lawlessness and rebellion against God's created order.

Homosexuality, as depicted in this passage, is described as a "vile thing" and a "base thing." This language emphasizes the seriousness of this sin and the fact that it is contrary to God's will. The Bible is clear that God's design for human relationships is heterosexuality, and that any deviation from this design is a form of anarchy and rebellion against God.

It is impossible for anyone to truly hold a faithful link with God while engaging in this vile sin. Rather, one who claims to have a relationship with God while practicing homosexuality is actually worshiping a god of their own fabrication - a god that condones and accepts their sinful behavior. This is a false god, one that is created in the image of human desire rather than the image of God.

Moreover, it is not intellectual elitism to claim to be "open" and "accepting" of this sin, while secretly desiring that one's own children would not engage in such behavior. This is a form of hypocrisy, where one claims to be tolerant and accepting, but in reality, they are simply trying to appear sophisticated and enlightened. Many of these individuals would not want their own children to engage in this behavior, yet they advocate for its acceptance in society. This is a clear example of a double standard, where one's words and actions do not align.

We must also recognize that our feelings and desires are not the standard by which we should live. As humans, we have a tendency to follow our feelings and desires, but this is not the way of God. God's way is one of obedience, submission, and surrender to His will. When we prioritize our feelings and desires above God's will, we open ourselves up to spiritual darkness and moral decay.

Furthermore, when we act solely based on our feelings and desires, we become less than animals. Animals do not act based on their feelings; they act based on their instincts and nature. But when humans act solely based on their feelings, they abandon reason, morality, and God's design.

The consequences of this rebellion are severe. When we reject God's design and pursue our own desires, we open ourselves up to spiritual darkness, moral decay, and ultimately, destruction.

As Christians, we are called to live according to God's design, not according to our own feelings or desires. We are called to submit ourselves to God's authority and to live a life that is pleasing to Him.

Let us learn from the mistakes of the men of Gibeah and the Levite. Let us strive to live a life that is in accordance with God's design, and let us reject any form of anarchy and rebellion against God's will.Same standards are applicable to lesbianism also.

Prayer:

Dear God, help us to understand the seriousness of sin and the importance of living according to Your design. May we reject any form of anarchy and rebellion against Your will, and may we strive to live a life that is pleasing to You. May we always seek to glorify You in all that we do. Amen.
