Trusting God's Unconventional Ways
Verses :_Exodus 5:22-23
"Moses returned to the Lord and said, 'Why, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Why did you send me? Since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people, and you have not rescued your people at all.'"
Moses' conversation with God reveals his perplexity and frustration. Despite God's clear instructions, Pharaoh's heart hardens, and the Israelites suffer. Moses wonders why God's promises seem unfulfilled, and his doubts creep in like a thief in the night.
Have you ever felt like Moses? You sense God's call, but circumstances contradict His promises. You pray, but the situation worsens. You obey, but the outcome is unexpected, leaving you questioning God's goodness and love.
But here's the truth: God's unchangeableness in nature, which we often experience as silence towards us, is our hope. His unchanging character is the anchor of our souls, the rock on which we stand. His silence is not a change in His nature, but a reflection of His consistent and unshakeable love.
In His silence, we find the hope that He is still the same God, unchanged and unchanging. His silence is not a sign of His absence, but a sign of His presence, a reminder that He is always with us, even when we can't see or hear Him.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you with humble hearts, grateful for your unchangeableness in nature, which we experience as silence towards us, our hope. Your consistent and unshakeable love is the anchor of our souls.
Forgive us for doubting your goodness and love. Teach us to trust your unchangeableness, to find hope in your silence, and to stand firm on the rock of your consistent character.
May our hope be anchored in your unchanging nature. May we find comfort in your silence, and may our faith grow deeper with each passing day.
Amen.
